Question:
I have a Jeep Liberty with 5000lb towing capacity and was wondering if
anyone has any experience or recommendations about the Aliner brand. Towing
was such a chore with my 22' camping trailer pulled with a full sized
pickup.....that I couldn't balance the joy of camping with the dread of
towing or parking. I like the idea of a pop up camper that also has hard
sides when popped up and I am considering trying again by buying something
much easier to tow. Also, how expensive are they compared to other pop ups?

Answer: That's amazing. What was so dreadful about towing such a relatively small
camper with a full-size pickup? (V6 or V8 in the pickup?)
Towing an Aliner, a heavy trailer by popup standards depending on the model,
with a vehicle with such a short wheelbase (5k tow rating
notwithstanding) may well be just as dreadful.
Question: I am considering trying again by
buying something much easier to tow.
Answer: "Much" easier? Don't count on it. Again, this is compared to your dreadful
experience towing with a full-sized pickup. It MAY be an "easier" tow, but
I'd be willing to bet that *IF* it is, it wouldn't be MUCH easier.
Question: Also, how expensive are they compared to other pop ups?
Answer: When compared to similar (closed) sized tent camper, I believe they are about
1/4-to-1/3 more than a traditional, top-of-the-line popup.
