Question:
I'm seriously considering purchasing a Big Foot truck camper. Has anyone
had any experience with these campers, especially models that have the
slide-out dinette?
Answer:
-I rented a 3000 series 11'6" from Kamping Kountry in Colorado
Springs. Good folks by the way. Rented it for two weeks. It
was not a model with the slide but the experience was good enough
that I'm saving my allowance now for one.
-We had a thread not too long ago about "High End Truck Campers" or
something to that affect. Either here or in Alt.RV. I can't remember.
I know that several of us had long posts, covering a few of the issues
that will probably interest you. I had just seen some BigFeet at the
local RV show and made quite a few comments. I can't remember what
all they were. You might do a Deja search to see what you can dig
up. Seems like this was in Feb or Mar.
But off the top of the head, I remember liking the interior floorplan
on the 3000 series, but not the headroom. To me, they look more top
heavy (I say this because the inside floor is raised and would guess
that everything else is raised correspondingly). The wet weight on
the 3000 is way up there. I like the exterior construction, but did
not like how the electric jacks were done. The cabinet fit and
finish is very nice. The head room over the bed was much better than
our Lance.
