Question:
I've never seen a dakota with a camper shell on it, anywhere on the east
coast. If i get a dakota extended cab, will it be easy to find a wide range
of shells/caps that will fit it? who installs them? How hard is it to take
it off and put it back on from time to time.
Answer:
-I have a Century cap on my 98 Dakota..made in Elkhart,In..it has 4
clamps that hold it on..2 people can walk it off the back..1 on each
side..don't know exact weight. It has a foam under it attached to the cap
and i had it carper lined at the factory. My wife and i took my old cap
off of my 86 Ford long bed and put it back on..my Dakota has a short
bed.cost of this Painted to match cap with slider, tinted windows and
carpet..little over $900..its the Hi C model..ttyl..bill
-Can you look for, or do, anything on your own? Are you really
this helpless and daft?
Try entering anything into an ANY web search engine. ANYTHING!
This again took 1 minute:
Go here http://www.hotbot.com/index.html and enter this phrase exactly
as I've typed it without the quotes "truck accessories AND caps". Since
this search yielded 16,355 matches, I'll let you do the rest of the
searching on your own. You'll need to select search by BOOLEAN
expression when you do this, and you'll probably want to display more
than the default 10 results.
You can also try checking out any of the large accessory manufacturers
sites: like Leer, Lund, ARE, etc. There are many, many makers of truck
accessories. Take your pick. Try something novel: get off your butt
and go out and look at some of these accessories at an accessory store
near you. Try, just try, opening the yellow pages first so that you
know where the heck you're going AND that the place you're going to is
open.
All I ask is that you actually make the ATTEMPT to find out the answers
to these questions that you have. The ATTEMPT.
