What is a good starter travel trailer?

Question:
What is a good starter travel trailer? I know nothing about TTs. I would like to buy a TT and camp with it to help me learn what I really want from a TT. I will be towing with a GMC Safari. My ultimate goal is to spend Winters in Florida, which is about 1 year away.

Answer:
Your intended tow vehicle is not of sufficient capability to tow anything but the very SMALLEST travel trailer. Even then, towing would be a chore and cause accelerated wear on the minivan. Trying to spend an entire winter in a travel trailer of this diminutive size would drive most folks crazy after a few weeks. You would do well to consider a popup camping trailer if towing with the GMC Safari. A small hybrid camper (full/high profile trailer but with fold-out/tent-covered bunkends) might work. Your choices are VERY limited by your current tow vehicle. If using it, you must pay CLOSE attention to the weight of the trailer PLUS the stuff you put in it. Also, the weight of the stuff AND people that are in the Safari must be included.
