Question:
Sea Ray camper top? I have a '78 Sea Ray 260 in excellent shape, though the canvas camper top is
getting pretty worn. Does anyone know where I might be able to obtain a
replacement which would fit my boat? Any idea what kinda $$ this would run
me?
Answer:
-It is doubtful that SeaRay would have a replacement "stock" model
available for a boat that old. Your best bet would be to contact a
local marine canvas shop and have them bid on making you a new custom
enclosure. The cost will vary a lot depending on your choice of
materials and the features you want.
My advice is to spend the extra dollars on the more expensive
"glass". The expensive stuff lasts much longer and gives much better
results than the cheap stuff.
-If the camper top was a factory top, it was likely made by Great
Lakes Tops. They make most, if not all, Searay tops. I bought a new
top a couple of years ago for my '89 300 DA. It was not cheap, about
$500 if I recall, but then again, I got a factory fitting top.
One problem, unless this has changed, they only keep the original
patterns for 10 years. You may be out of luck.
