Question:
I'm currently hauling my family's 3 bikes in an enclosed cargo trailer.
It is large enough that 3 or 4 can sleep overnight in it as well.
I've seen the "toy hauler" type RVs but they all seem a little large for
some of the places I go. I've been eyeing the 5th wheel horse
trailers you see on the road with the front as a camper with AC etc.
I've also considered doing a camper conversion on the front half of my
20 ft cargo trailer, windows, insulation, AC, refrigerator etc.
Anybody care to share thoughts and experiences along these line?
Answer:
-Go to your local caming/rv show.
Coachmen or someone already makes one. The back is a gate that folds down
and you wheel the bike right in.
-I saw a neat unit this summer. It was about a 20' goose neck trailer,
with a truck box camper mounted at the front (wrapped over the goose neck
section). The side holes on the truck camper were boxed in for storage.
This left about a 12' deck at the back for his toys.
I was thinking of doing the same thing, with an additional tarped section
for about half of the remaining deck space. This would give you a dry
place to store your riding gear, and still keep all the mud and shit outa
the camper.
