Question:
Just wondering if anyone has dealt with a leaky bathroom trailer holding
tank? The tank is plastic and has a few some holes in it, and I was
thinking of using some tar to seal it, or silicon. Does anyone have any
input on this? I also have a leaky water tank on the same camping trailer.
The trailer is a 1974 Travelaire. If anyone out there has owner one of
these trailers, I'd appreciate any information on it. It's a dual axle
model with a complete bathroom, furnace and propane fridge, and it sleeps 4
adults and 2 kids.
Answer:
-Tar might work, then Id use a course screen patch over the
wet tar to bind it ...or do the same with GOOP,,,(plumbing
dept) silicone seal wont last long term imho.
-it's lost all its value so what you do is down to you! I don't know your
home but I guess it's either glass fibre, or fixable with lamination, or
just dumping it and buying a new one, that old, you have used it 3 times
past its design limits!
-Depending on what it is made of I have repaired polyethelene with 3M
5200 sealent. It stays flexible and bonds to a rough sanded surface
forever.
