My husband and I are looking at a 1999 Coachman pop up camper

Question:
My husband and I are looking at a 1999 Coachman pop up camper and one thing the current owners could not tell us about is the sink because they never used running water in it. It has a white faucet with a lever on the right side that when you pump it you can get water from the holding tank, but when we hook the hose to the outside of the pop up for "city" water, we are not getting any water. We are still getting water from the holding tank. Does anyone know how to switch over to city water line instead of holding tank? They seemed to think it had something to do with a water regulating valve, that because there was not one on there, is the reason why we were not getting any water??? Does this sounds right? I would appreciate any help

Answer:
If the faucet is made by J&C water systems, you push the handle all the way down till it locks for city water or move handle up & down for tank water. You really need a pressure regulator added to the spigot first, then the hose connected to it, then connected to the camper. Too much pressure from a city water connection will blow out the hose fittings inside the camper if you're not carefull. You can buy a "BRASS" not blue plastic regulator at wally world for under $5.00.
