Question:
What are some of everyones opinions on the diffrent brands of camping
trailers? Some brands are rather expensive,i.e coleman, are they worth
the added expense
Answer:
-I've owned a Starcraft and just a few months ago bought a Coleman. After
several trips with the Coleman, we like it OK, but I'm not sure we find it
any better or worse than our Starcraft. The Coleman frame is thicker and
sturdier and it came with electric brakes and so on, but all things being
equal, I dont think I would pay more next time just to get a Coleman. As for
the dealer, I agree that a good dealer may be more important than the brand
you buy. I bought from a very large dealer, but so far I've been very
unimpressed with their knowledge and service. I'm not sure how they got so
big. My impression is that the sales and service people are really far more
concerned with big rig customers.
-I bought a new 95 Dutchman, (garbage) had lots of problems . Thor bought
the company that made the Dutchman.
I now have a 2003 Coleman Utah. Very nice camper . Pricey but worth it in my
opnion. I also have a 2001 Palomino slide in on my truck. They make a nice
pop up too. Check out the frame construction. Buy a box frame over the "C"
channel frame.
