Coleman Pop up camper

Question:
Considering purchase of new 1999 Coleman Mesa camper. Any advice/recommendations?

Answer:
-Just a few points to ponder. We bought a new Jayco pop-up in '95 and love it, in fact we sold a 28 foot motor home and replaced it with the pop-up, best move we ever made. We studied the options list and added what we thought we would need to suit our needs best. We ended up with... Water heater and pressurized water system, comes in handy for dishwashing, quick slush offs before bed, etc. Air conditioning, don't sit inside with it on all the time, but if you end up with a site with limited shade or get chased inside by a storm on a hot day, it sure helps make things bearable. It's nice for sleeping on hot humid nights too, and works surprisingly well in the pop-up. Outside shower, again nice for quick slush offs, washing sand off kids and beach toys, and we use ours a lot to coolm the dog off. A real nice option!!! Refrigerator, we opted for the three way fridge in place of the ice chest type box that comes standard. We've never used the gas mode yet, but we plug in the night before we leave and pack the fridge with stuff to cool off over night, then set it for 12 volt right before we leave. The 12V mode won't cool, but wil maintain what is already cool for a 5-6 hour trip easy. Screen room/awning, we use the awning every time we go out, and the zip on screen room if we run into a bug infested place. We went to Thomson Illinois and camped on the Mississippi last June and between the shadflys and mosquitos, we wouldn't have been able to stay without the screenroom, but that was the first time we'd taken it out from under the bench in three years. King bed, this option as availble and is real nice, just a little extra room to stretch. Battery set-up, standard on a lot of pop-ups, a real handy option if not...will run the pump and lights in a power failure. RV shows, a good way to see a lot of campers and get GOOD prices on show specials. Defintely the way we will buy our next one. Hope this gives you a little to consider, I guess my main point is that no matter what brand or model you get, considering all the options and getting exactly what you need is the important thing. Let me know if you need any more specifics or if I can help you in any way.

-We have 1999 Coleman Niagara and love it. Camped over 46 nights in it last summer last summer nearly 6,000 miles. Electric brakes are great on a pop up. Our previous pop up had been bare bones so having water shower potty are great. The service from our dealer and coleman have very good. Air has been a real great things on those few occasions we have needed it. One of the things I like about the Colemans is the sunbrella fabric. We not had any leaks and it breaths so we don't get mositure buildup inside. I have looked at alot of popups before and after buying ours and I do not think I would buy anything other than a Coleman or Jayco unless it really was a great price on a used something else.
