coleman pop up camper help

Question:
I have a coleman camper(small pop-up)and want to know how to lower it after jack the top up? i think they may be aproblem with it. it's jakced up by one of two ends the come out the front of the camper

Answer:
The top is rased or lowered with a crank that is stored on the step riser below the door. There are two cranking locations on the front of the camper, one is at the center and bottom of the front. Associated with this is a small lever that changes the ratchiting device to allow lowering the roof. The second cranking location is toward the left ( As you face the front of the camper) about 2/3 of the way from the bottom. This location is the one you normally use. I have found that when I lowere the top I first have to crank slightly in the rase direction to allow me to release the ratchet. The instruction manual states that the leveling jacks at the corners must be retracted and the camper only on the wheels and hitch when puting the top up or down. I have a 78 Coleman I got new. I can send you a copy of the owners manual if you let me know you address.
