Question:
Can someone tell me why someone would purchase a fith wheel instead of a
travel trailer? From what I can gather it looks like you'd wind up with a
shorter towing length while getting the same length as a TT but that's about
it.
Answer:
The stability differences are STARK! You can end up into a curve too
fast with the 5th wheel and suffer far less adverse effects, then you
would with a "tail wagging the dog" rear hitch travel trailer...
I have towed both with the same pickup truck, the best most expensive
travel trailer hitch setup doesn't even come close to the stability of a
5th wheel trailer. Everyone should compare the difference if they don't
believe what people tell them.
Lets take a poll, I believe most people who have really tried it both
ways would never willing switch back to a travel trailer from a 5th
wheel trailer...
