Question:
I am considering buying a 23 foot Hi-Lo Trailer. Am interested in any
experience others have had with this trailer - durability, quality of
construction and equipment. Also, I will be towing it with a Jeep
Cherokee (6 cyl engine). Any thoughts on how this will work?
Answer:
We traded a Hi-Lo in on our 5th. I never towed it, so I can't help you
there. Always remember to take everything off the cabinets and table, and
be sure all the cabinet doors are shut or you might have an unpleasant
surprise. Do a complete walk-around before putting it down or you may
have a hole to fix. We did when I lowered it on the hitch contraption
which was laying in the little storage shelf at the rear of the trailer.
(Fiberglass repair kits are great, but not fun to do). We had to use anti-
sway bars and hubby said it still was a hand-full if he had to make any
sudden movements. He says the 5th is so much easier even though it is
affected by the wind more than the Hi-Lo. We towed it with an 86 Cheve
305 and thought it would have done better with a different gear ratio.
Had a 370 put in when we got the 5th. Hubby said it would have helped
considerably with the trailer
