Question:
I can pick this thing up for free and I am a do it yourself (cheap) type
of guy. The exterior is nice (it's a airstream look alike) but
everything inside is gone. Just the wall and ceiling panels and AC are
there. The toilet might be there, I can't get that far since it is
filled with old tires.
Anyway, I am thinking of refinishing the interior to fit MY needs. Has
anyone here done anything similar. Know of any used travel trailer
appliance junkyards near south east PA? I've been looking for web sites
but haven't found much helpful.
Answer:
-I'm not familiar with this particular model, but in general these were
very nice well made trailers.
-For about the same price you can get old TT's WITHOUT having to unload
the old tires. Frankly I wouldn't even think about starting with
something that far gone. . . if they paid me to carry it off.
-I look at it as a classic. Plus I have the ability to remodel it anyway
I like without taking away from it's value. (since it has no value
now!) Just think of all the nuts who build street rods out of old cars.
To me this will be a lot easier. The electric is simple, the plumbing
is simple, the beds will be simple, the hardest part will definitely be
the cabinets in the rounded corners.
I have to do some more research yet but I think it is over 40 years
old. The outside skin, windows and frames are stronger than anything
you can buy today.
