Question:
Friends of ours are considering pop-up camping for the first
time (YEAH!). But, they want to rent for a few times to see how
much they like it.
Can anyone give me an estimate of the price for renting a pop-up
for a 2-3 day weekend (we're in Northern, ILL)? And/or share
personal experience with renting a pop-up camper? Do dealers
rent, or strictly campgrounds?
Answer:
-Hey Gale,
Try the RV Rental Association's web site
www.rvra.org or call them at 703-591-7130 for information about who and where
to rent pop ups.
-I'm in Rhode Island but I doubt that prices would vary that much, so I
hope this helps.
In 1998 we rented an old model Rockwood 8' box pop-up. Although it was
too small for us it was clean and everything worked well. We paid
$300.00 for one week. We picked it up on a friday morning and returned
it the next saturday before noon.
The reason we rented was that my wife had only gone camping in large RV's
and wasn't sure she would like having to walk to the bathrooms. She
ended up liking it very much and within one month we had gone out and
purchased our own camper.
