Question:
There has been many arguments about if a shower/toilet is worth it in a
popup. I have one and wouldn't go without it for endless reasons but
one disadvantage I have yet heard is.....
BE CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE A STINKY PERSON IN YOUR FAMILY as they can stink
up a little' popup for hours. (I won't say who in my family is the
stinker...as I don't want my wife mad at me again)
LOL
Answer:
-Unless you do a lot of camping at places with no facilities I think the
toilet/shower is not a very smart thing to have. I don't care how careful
you are it has to be impossible to keep the pop up dry when showering and
who wants to go with the rest of your family sitting there trying to eat.
The added expense is not worth it unless you are really roughing it in my
opinion.
-I respect your opinion, but I beg to differ. We have two small
children. The shower in our popup has a little bench they can sit on
while we wash them up. As for adults, you don't take a shower in the
normal sense - i.e. you don't stand under a stream of hot water for 20
minutes like I do at home. To conserve (hot) water, you can quickly
rinse, shut the shower off, soap up, and rinse again. The toilet
comes in handy mostly at night. The popup remains dry with the shower
curtain (uhh, this works at home, doesn't it?), and we have a fan/air
conditioning unit that will rid the camper of excess moisture. Long
lines for showers at popular campgrounds can also be a good reason. I
could go on with a miriad of reasons, but really it is a personal
choice. I don't see how it is "not smart". It's just one of those
things that some people can or cannot do without.
