Question:
Looking for recommendations on a 1-2 person popup camper for a
full-sized pickup. Ideally, it would have the same travel profile as a
camper shell, but pop up to a reasonable height. Needs stove,
refrigerator, bed, storage. Water & toilet nice but optional.
Answer:
-I've never shopped for a small camper, so can't help there. I have one of
those huge 12 footers on my F350 dually. I'd suggest reading the slide-in
camper forum over at www.irv2.com where there's been much discussion on
popups.
-My Aunt and Uncle had an "Alaskan" brand pop up on their pickup for
years. Used it extensively in very rough country.
They enjoyed hunting, fishing and rock hounding and traveled over lots
of rough county with their 4 wheel drive truck.
I don't know of any other camper that would have held up to the abuse
this camper took. Their son is now using this camper with the same
gusto and it still looks good and everything works.
