Question:
Can anyone recommend a nice park in Eastern Ontario that would be good for
a tent trailer and young Children.
Answer:
Absolutely any of the Ontario Provincial Parks are superb - it's
the best run park system in the country. My personal favourite
is Driftwood - quiet, just a single long row of sites so you
are not in a zoo, lovely woods to walk in and stuff yourself
with wild blueberries. My children all loved it young, and
they are still stopping there every time they go by (now on
their own).
The toll-free number for Ontario travel info is (800)668-2746 -
they will send you (free the last time I checked) a booklet
listing all the provincial parks and their facilities. They
range from playgroundy beaches (Sandbanks) to almost totally
natural (Algonquin), so pick the style you prefer.
