Question:
I am looking at buying a camper shell for a truck with an 8 foot bed.
I've talked to a few dealers and the Gem-Tops tend to run about $850
while the other brands are more like $1050 to $ 1100. Does anybody have
any opinions about which ones are better made. I definitely want one
with a significant rise from front to back and a large rear window. I
like the way the Raven looks, it seems to be pretty solidly built. My
initial impressions are that the Gem-Tops seems a little cheap

-bought a Brahma cap about 6 years ago and as Joey Chitwood can
testify and mysellf it withstood a rollover. Actually mine flipped
off the truck and rolled over in the yard. Not to mention the time I
slammed it into the garage when I forget the back was open ...Didn't
bust the glass but bent the frame a little. Anyway I paid about
850.00 for it back in 91 but I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. It
still looks new with no problems and can definitely take a beating.
My dealer left me swing a baseball bat full force at one...It just
bounced off.
THey come standard with sliding front windows and tint all the way
arond which keeps people from peeeping in and screened windows...At
least check them out.
